My Review on the QA World Transcriptionist Job which is a great transcription job from home for beginners.I'll tell you the process of applying,taking the transcription test,taking two quizzes,and starting your jobs transcribing various phone calls.I also discuss the pay Rate and how difficult it is to get accepted into the platform.

 

 

 

 

Today I'm going to review QA World where you can work as a paid transcriptionist.I'm going to teach you how to apply to become a transcriptionist and how the platform works once you get accepted.So let's get started.First of all,you need to be fluent in English or have a very good level and you'll need access to a computer with internet.

 

 

Make sure to go to the website here at QA world.Let's apply with our first and last name,then email address,and you can specify how you can specify how you heard about QA World.Then Click Apply.Now you'll be told that an email has been sent to your inbox that will contain a link to a short transcription test.If you pass this test,you'll be approved to be a paid transcriptionist on the platform.Make sure to check your spam folder if it's not in your inbox.I'll head over to my inbox to find this confirmation email welcoming me to QA World.Now let's click on the link there to go to the short transcription test.First we'll be directed to a page to create a transcriber account by entering in a password.Our Username will be the email we signed up with.Then Click Create Account.

And now we have the English transcription test.I will say this much.This is the easiest transcription test I have ever taken.I have done tests for Rev and Crowd Surf.Rev's transcription test is extremely difficult to pass even if you have a perfect level of English.And the transcription test for GoTranscript is an absolute joke.It's so hard to hear what they are saying that even a native English speaker can't understand.But QA World has a simple audio clip with one speaker.You just need to type out what the person says with correct punctuation,spelling and grammar,and you don't need to include any speaker labels or timestamps.It is super,Super simple and easy if you speak and understand English.Again,I don't approve or condone cheating.So I'm not writing the answers out there.But once you transcribe it,Just click Submit Transcription.You can listen as many times as you like to the video and double or triple check it before submitting.

 

 

Getting Accepted:

 

 

 And Just like that,I was approved with a notification saying I got the job.This was the easiest transcription platform to pass by far.Now they tell you a bit about the pay,which is around 20 cents per audio minute.Let me be clear that this is extremely low pay.So I only recommend this job for people who live in a country where the cost of living is low,or if you're desperate for cash,or even if you want to get some transcription experience and work your way up to become a professional and higher paid transcriptionist.Also you can see there that the pay is weekly on Wednesday evening,and also it is via PayPal.After you get this confirmation,you'll get information about Joining Slack,which is a workspace and community to get answers and help from others who are transcribing,or to talk to the support staff for QA World.Now,let's click on Setup Account.Then read and sign the NDA and click Continue.

Now you have to read the Privacy Policy and take the quiz on the privacy policy.But all the information you need for this quiz is on this page.And don't worry if you answer incorrectly.They will highlight your incorrect answer in red giving you the option to switch before submitting again.So you aren't at risk to lose your transcriber status if you don't answer correctly,but you do need to eventually get all the answers correct before proceeding.So fill out the quiz and then Click Submit answers and Continue.

FAQ And Guidelines Quiz:

 

 

You'll go through an FAQ on transcribing for QA World,which you should read through in detail and make notes.Again,you'll have nine questions to answer before proceeding.But like the last quiz,you are allowed to make mistakes.I recommend hitting CTRL+F on your Keyboard to search for the answers to the questions within the FAQ Guide.Once you're done,click Submit answers and Continue.Now you'll be given several links to training videos,quality rating guidelines and sample transcripts,which is all great practice before starting.Once you've reviewed these materials,just Click Continue.And you can review the FAQ Again or Just Click Start Transcribing to get started.

 

 

How to Accept Jobs in the Dashboard ?

 

 

This will open up a page where you can accept jobs and also check out the leader board.So there some names of the people on the leader board.But you can there how many minutes they have transcribed,so they're getting a lot of work each week.If you see down,you'll see there's a small bonus of $2 if you transcribe 100 minutes in a week.And you'll see the estimated call length and how much you're estimated to make transcribing the call,in addition to the time allowed to complete the transcription.All of these are phone conversation between two people.So you don't need to worry about labeling speakers other than identifying the customer rep and the customer.The downside of the platform is that you cannot preview listening to the call before you accept the Job,which is unfortunate since there may be some that are more difficult than others,but you cancel up to five a day.When you're ready to start transcribing,Click Start Work.Be advised there that you will only be paid for transcripts that meet quality guidelines.then Click OK.Now you'll see I've got this error 401 pop up,but don't worry,that just means someone else took the job before you did.So just go back and choose another one.This will get you into the platform where you can start transcribing.

Transcribe Statement by Statement

Basically,you need to transcribe statement by statement and there is a built in automatic text to speech help you.Sometimes the statements are already automatically written out correctly if the speaker has a really clear voice,but most of the time you need to edit them and make sure the customer and rep labels are correct.When you're done you click Save edits that next statement and continue editing until you finish.

 

 

Press Release Call,if you do not want to transcribe the call.You can release up to 5 calls per day.

There is also a list of keyboard shortcuts to help you while you're transcribing.And finally they have a glossary which is a list of companies or businesses that you are transcribing their calls.So this will help you with spelling these names when you hear them.So I recommend you go through all the material thoroughly before you begin transcribing.

 

 

My overall thoughts on QA World is that it is very easy to get accepted providing you hear and write English well.However,the Pay is very low.And I think you can make more money with other Platforms like Rev or Crowd Surf.But this is a good website for people who want to learn and practice transcribing and for beginners,or for people who are desperate to make money online and who are fluent in English.
